Gert-Jan Elsen specialises in corporate criminal law. He focuses in particular on economic regulations (employment conditions, workplace accidents, competition, medicines, food and non-food), the environment, financial regulations (insider trading, money laundering) and fraud. Government-related criminal law is one of his specialties (the Pikmeer judgment, corruption, breach of confidence). He represents listed and unlisted companies, public authorities and their directors throughout the entire enforcement process (from raid to legal action, if any). He also advises on the avoidance of enforcement risks and proceedings. Gert‑Jan gives courses in e.g. economic criminal law, the Anti- Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorist Financing Act, liability of public authorities, special aspects of administrative supervision and investigation, and points for attention in interrogations and raids.
